I'm always writing, whether it's a media release for a professional association, writing jokes for my next stand-up set, or creating an adventure for my friends in Dungeons and Dragons. Writing is one of the best ways for a person to release their creative juices, and in the past few years, writing has shifted from a passing interest of mine to a passion.
I enjoy helping brands tell their stories, whether that’s through pitching journalists and setting up interviews, or helping to organize events showcasing a business/organization's values. Currently, I specialize in generating earned media coverage for nonprofits, professional associations, and a variety of other clients in different sectors. I also help devise media/communications strategies, marketing plans, and more across a variety of clients. In the summer of 2021, I began working as an intern for Heron Agency. As an intern, I was tasked with crafting press releases, media alerts, pitch decks, media lists, and social content calendars. I also run community engagement for a boutique hotel's Instagram. At the end of my internship, I was offered a part-time position for my senior year as an Assistant Publicist and an official part of the Heron team. As assistant publicist, I took on more responsibilities in terms of setting up partnerships for our clients, social content, and community outreach. In January 2022, I resigned from Heron to focus on graduating. In May 2022, I graduated Loyola University Chicago. I moved to New Haven, CT later that month to begin working at Big Voice Communications, LLC (BVC). At BVC, I focused on drafting press releases, media alerts, pitches, and other media/marketing materials for non-profits, fine arts organizations, and professional associations. I gained experience with tools such as Cision, Asana, and more, along with taking on a more client-facing role in meetings. After spending 10 months with BVC, I decided that we were not compatible long term, and have set out on finding my next opportunity/adventure. In my time outside of work, I can be found actively engaging with my community in several different ways. I enjoy performing stand up comedy at open mics around the area, with a clip from one of my favorite bits I've written below. Often, I can be found leading friends, acquaintances, and complete strangers through worlds of fantasy, comedy, and high adventure while playing Dungeons and Dragons at local store Elm City Games (check them out, they're awesome!). I also volunteer regularly at DESK (check them out too, they always need volunteers). Got a question, want to see some professional work, or just want to chat? Feel free to connect with me here! |
